Azerbaijan, Baku, 18 July / corr. Trend R.Ergun / Prizes of the Azerbaijani sportsmen, who will gain medals in the Beijing Olympic Games, will be doubled as minimum as compared to the previous Olympic Games, Azad Rahimov, the Azerbaijani Youth and Sport Minister, told journalists at news conference held on 18 July.
A total of 44 sportsmen will represent Azerbaijan in the Olympic Games, which will be held in Beijing, the capital of China.
The Minister stated that the Azerbaijani President will meet with sportsmen before the Olympic Games, and the issue on prizes will be discussed at this meeting, as well.
Rahimov said that most of all, he relied on sportsmen, who would represent Azerbaijan in the Beijing Olympic Games on wrestling, judo and equestrian sport.
