A new 120-kilometre long train line between the Chinese cities of Beijing and Tianjin was officially opened Friday.
High-speed trains will run on the line at speeds of up to 350 kilometres per hour, cutting the travel time between the two northern Chinese cities from 70 to 30 minutes, reported dpa.
The new route will be the quickest way for athletes, journalists and fans to make it from Beijing to the 12 Olympic football tournament matches taking place in Tianjin between August 6 and 15.
