Azerbaijan, Baku, 13 August / Trend corr. T.Jafarov/ According to the chairman of the Azerbaijani State Committee on Religious Organizations, Azerbaijan is interested in development of relation with Iran.
"Nobody can prevent the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Iran," Hidayat Orujov, the chairman of the State Committee, said at a meeting with the Mayor of the Ardabil City Administration Ali Nikzad.
Orujov was paying an official visit to Iran from 6 to 13 August.
It is important to develop economic, political and religious relations between the Iranian Ardabil and Azerbaijan, Nikzad said at the meeting. Ardabil Province is ready for any cooperation with Azerbaijan - development of the border trade relations, as well as in the field of agriculture, he stressed.
Nikzad said Iran is ready to create conditions for its companies' participation in the Azerbaijani exhibitions, as well as the Azerbaijani companies' participation in the international exhibitions to be held in Ardabil.
He expressed his intentions to cut customs tariffs between Azerbaijan and Iran.
Orujov met with Hasan Amil, the jumah imam of Ardabil city, within his visit. The meeting focused on development of religious relations between Iran and Azerbaijan.
