Azerbaijan, Baku, 17 September / Trend corr. R.Ergun / The Azerbaijani National beach football team will contest for prize-winning places of the European Cup to be held in Baku.
"Our main objective is to win one of the top places. I believe that we can gain good results because of successful performance of our team," Farid Novruzi, the President of the Azerbaijani Beach Football Federation (ABFF), said at a news conference on 17 September.
Matches of the European Cup on beach football will take place in Baku from 18 to 21 September.
The Azerbaijani National team will meet with the British team at the first match on 19 September.
Enrique Gustavo Silva, a Brazilian specialist and coach of the Azerbaijani National beach football team, participated in the news conference and said that the team targets to gain victory at a match with the British National team.
"I believe that we will make our fans glad defeating the British team. Azerbaijan has competitive and powerful team," Silva said.
Teams of Azerbaijan, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Norway and Sweden will participate in the European Cup.
