Azerbaijan, Baku, 9 October / Trend corr. R.Ergun / Berti Foghts, a German chief coach of the Azerbaijani National football team, considered reports on his transfer to the German Borrusiya football club as groundless.
їIt is pleasure for me to work with the Azerbaijani National team. I promised to assist the Azerbaijani football in its development as much as possible. I have great programs to realize here and hope that it will stimulate development of the Azerbaijani football,ї Foghts, said in his interview to website of the Azerbaijan Football Federations Association (AFFA) on 9 October.
Some media reports urged on the German Borrusiya football clubїs interests in Foghts, the chief coach of the Azerbaijani National team.
Foghts said that he was fond of Borrusiya team. їI played for this team, when I was 18. I thank Borrusiya for my development as a footballer. I also have some merits in achievements of the club. However, at present I have a contract with the AFFA,ї the German chief coach said.
Foghts was appointed a chief coach of the Azerbaijani National football team in April. The National team held six matches, including three defeats, two drawn matches and one victory, under his leadership.
