Azerbaijan, Baku, 17 October / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyeva / The court discharged head of a construction company, who appropriated great quantity of money deceiving citizens through fraud.
The last hearing on a case of Nazim Hajiyev, the head of the Orkhan Limited Liability Company (LLC), took place at the court, the Serious Crime Court told Trend on 17 October.
The Public Prosecutor asked the court to sentence Hajiyev to eight-year imprisonment.
Hajiyev, who was arrested in November 2007, appropriated more than 20 citizens' money promising them to give flats at his buildings in Khatai District, Aliaga Shikhlinski and Telnov Streets. He signed false contracts with them.
A lawsuit was filed against Hajiyev in accordance with Articles 178 (fraud) and 320 (falsification, development, sale or use of official documents, state awards, stamps and blanks) of the Criminal Code.
The court applied Article 70 (nominal sentence) of the Crime Code to Hajiyev. Thus, he got eight-year nominal sentence form the court with three-year probation
