First Media Resource Centre in Azerbaijani Region
Azerbaijan, Lankaran, 25 October / Trend corr. P.Aliyeva/ With financial support from the NGO Council at the Azerbaijani President's Office, the Public Association for Media & Civil Society set up the first media resource centre in the western region of the country in Lankaran, Khanoglan Ahmadov, project coordinator and chairman of the public association, said on 25 October. Director of the Centre is Khagani Ibadov.
"The centre was created to support the media of the western region. This is a pilot project," said Ahmadov. The main objective of the project is to assist in the development and expansion of freedom of expression of media in country's regions, as well as to establish cooperation between media and the governmental bodies. At the same time, the centre will help to solve media's technical problems and to coordinate their activities, as well as will provide opportunities to highlight the problems of the region by media. The Centre will cover the activities of mass media in seven districts of the western region of Azerbaijan - Lankaran, Masalli, Lerik, Jalilabad, Astara, Yardimli and Bilasuvar.
