Amendments to the Azerbaijani Labor Code call for non-working days at temperatures over 41 degrees, head of the Social Legislation Department of the Azerbaijani parliament Mirhashim Seyidov said.
According to current legislation, non-working days are called at temperatures over 45 degrees.
The amendments to the legislation are based on 5-year monitoring by the Justice Ministry, Finance Ministry, parliament, State Committee on Family, Women and Children's Problems and Trade Unions Confederation.
Azerbaijan passed the Labor Code in 1998.
As many as 120 changes are expected to be made to 33 articles of the legislation. Voting days will also be made non-working days. If a person voluntarily works on voting day, he/she must be paid extra salary.
Earlier, only the Election Code stipulated voting days as non-working days.
