The prosecutor requested that the accused be sent to jail for hazing at the Military Court.
The prosecutor asked that Famil Ganiyev be sentenced to 4.5 years in jail and Jabir Yusibov, Rahid Jafarov, Adil Abbasov and Elkhan Almammadov to four years each.
The trial will proceed on March 1.
A videotape showing soldiers being beaten at an Azerbaijani military hospital was posted on the Internet. The clip was filmed at the Defense Ministry's Alat Military Hospital in February.
The Military Prosecutor's Office filed a lawsuit on misconduct against the soldiers.
Five soldiers were victims of the military hazing.
Four rescinded their complaints.
Azerbaijani ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova said control over the army must be strengthened to prevent bullying and beatings.
"Public control must be exercised over military units and prisons," she said earlier.
