A few days ago the training session of Russia national team was attended by ballerina Maya Plisetskaya, who said that the ballet has made a big step forward in jumps and amplitude precisely because of gymnastics, Winer said.
The 25th European Callisthenics Championship 2009 started in Baku on May 15. The competition was organized the Gymnastics Federation of Azerbaijan. The competition was attended by 186 gymnasts from 32 countries.
Russia won the first prize at the European Callisthenics Championship 2009, gaining 224.325 points. The team of Azerbaijan gained the silver medal of the Championship, with 212.850 points. The bronze medal was gained by the Ukrainian team, with 209.700 points.
