Results of finals at Azerbaijani schools of general education are higher in 2009 compared to 2008, education minister Misir Mardanov told media at the press-conference on June 22.
Centralized finals were held on June 3-16 in four regions of the country. Roughly 96,595 of 99,630 graduates participated in exams. Roughly 76,825 graduates got positive marks. The rest 19,720 pupils will not get certificate. Roughly 5,067 pupils having unsatisfactory marks on annual indices were not permitted for exams.
Six pupils - winners of competitions were released from exams. Roughly 419 pupils were released because of health. Minister said that he is satisfied with level of knowledge of pupils and results of exams. Positive results hit 77.11 percent all over Republic.
