The number of pensioners, civil servants in Azerbaijan is 9,694 people.
"State servants have the privileges in many spheres, including in the sphere of pension provision. Currently the number of pensioners, state servants in Azerbaijan is 9,694 people. The average amount of pension of pensioners, state servants is 327.4 manat that 3.3 times (99 manat) exceeds the average monthly pension of ordinary citizens," Press Secretary of State Social Protection Fund of Azerbaijan Elman Babayev told Trend on June 23.
Upon the decree by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated 25 May 2006, June 23 is a professional holiday of state servants. For already fourth year, state servants has been celebrating this holiday.
According to Babayev, the pensions of pensioners, state servants are increased at huge amount, and each time, the amount of these pensions is brought into conformity with the salary for this position currently.
In connection with the increase in salaries of state servants in 2008, pensions of state servants were increased by an average of 50 percent from 1 July of the same year, and for the first time, was applied a system of personal notification of pensioners in relation to the increase.
