Azerbaijani court keeps in force a sentence on gang members accused of serious crime

The Azerbaijani Supreme Court did not grant appeal of gang members convicted for murder, kidnapping and other crimes.
The Azerbaijani Supreme Court did not grant appeal of gang members headed by former senior investigator of Azerbaijani Interior Ministry Haji Mammadov, who sentenced for life imprisonment, the Supreme Court said.
Appeals of Mammadov's wife Naila Guliyeva, his nephews Farhad Mammedbekov and former deputy director of Kapital Bank of Sabunchu region Elchin Aliyev, as well as Musa Dabuyev, Aslanbay Chintamirov, Aligulu Guliyev, Malik Mammadov, Huseyn Abdulvahadov, Adalat Asadullayev, Fariz Hammidov, Nishad Ismayilov, Elshan Mirzoyev, Yagir Mammadov, Rovshan Agayev and Mehman Hasanov were considered.
Earlier appeals of three gang members Hadji Mammadov, Zakir Nasirov and Kamil Sadraddinov were considered. Verdict on them was kept in force.
The court sentenced leader and nine members of the gang to life imprisonment and others to a term in prison from 8 to 15 years.
