Azerbaijan's Minister of Education, Misir Mardanov, is concerned about the condition of preschool institutions in the country.
"Multistory buildings are constructed near kindergartens and this causes concerns. The worst thing is that the construction sites occupy the territory of kindergartens. Unfortunately, the executive authorities of these areas and management are indifferent to it," Mardanov said at the republican conference of educators.
The Minister also said that about 16 preschool institutions will be put into operation in the new academic year. "About 323 preschool institutions, 20 of which are located in Baku, one - in Sumgayit, will be repaired in 2010, " Mardanov added.
