Georgia established a special commission to reduce the risk of the A/H1N1 virus. According to the Georgian Health Ministry, the commission will ensure preparation of proposals to prevent and carry out certain measures to reduce risk of influenza in Georgia.

In addition, the commission will control the organization of special training for medical personnel, as well as preparation of certain proposals on public purchase of necessary medicine.
Under the decree, the National Center for Control over Disease and Public Health was charged to carry out general epidemiological control due to the new virus.
Under the decision of the special commission, established by the Health Ministry, stockpiles of drugs against pandemics were increased.
As for Sept.10, the Ministry has 105 kg (105, 000 therapeutic doses) of "Tamiflu" oseltamivir phosphate, in the form of unprepacked powder with the active pharmaceutical ingredient, 14, 682 packages of Tamiflu (oseltamivir) and 26, 470 packages of Relenza (Zanamivir).
In addition, the Ministry also has reserves of self-defense. According to the ministry, it holds processes to purchase additional medicines of Tamiflu (40, 000 therapeutic doses), respirator and Personal protective equipment (PPE).
Today, the Ministry coordinated a plan for emergency response with more than 60 hospitals.
