'Azad Azerbaijan' TV and Radio Company (ATV) improves all its show-programs, deputy president of the company, Natiq Ibrahimov, told Trend on October 3.

Head of the presidential administration Ramiz Mehdiyev attracted attention to shortages in activity of TV and radio channels in the article published in 'Azerbaijan' newspaper under the title 'Ether time of Azerbaijan: problems and tasks' on October 2.

Mehdiyev said that increasing number of low-quality entertaining show programs at TV channels is one of mainly discussed problems disturbing public.

Head of the administration said that discussion of the problem by experts demonstrated that business-interests of TV and radio channels, adding programs alien to our mentality to fill up ether, lack of professional staff and other problems are one of major grounds of similar serous shortages.

Mehdiyev said that results of weekly monitoring of TV channels held by the National Television and Radio Council demonstrate that ATV allocate 32.3 percent of its ether to TV programs concerning show business (programs like 'Xeyir ola', 'Chal-chagir show', 'Yag kimi', '10-lar', 'Performance', 'Tam serbest-solo', 'ATV magazin', 'Kim kimdir', 'Yeni Ulduz'.

Measures to bring leading TV programs in accordance with all standards will be also taken.

Up to 4,000 media outlets were registered in Azerbaijan, 600 of them operate now. Roughly 400 newspapers and magazines are published. Over 20 TV channels operate. There are 50 E-media outlets, 20 information agencies, rest - Internet resources in Azerbaijan.
