The trial was completed on a special lawsuit of the President of Khazar-Lankaran Football Club against two journalists.

Upon the decision by the Nizami district court, the journalist of Fanat.az, Natig Mukhtar was sentenced to one year suspended sentence. Upon the court decision, 20 percent of Natig Mukhtar's salary will be deducted and transferred to the President of Khazar-Lankaran, Mayis Mansumov to compensate moral damages and restoration of incurred social influence.

Chief Editor of Qaynar.info portal and head of the Fanat.az project, Azamat Zahid, was also found guilty of spreading such insulting expressions on the website and was sentenced to six months of correction labor. According to the court decision, 20 percent of his salary will also be transferred to Mansumov.

Journalists said that they will make an appeal complaint.

In his lawsuit, Mansumov demanded arresting the author of insulting expressions and head of the project site Zahid Azamat, referring to the insult inflicted on him and his family.
Currently, three journalists in Azerbaijan are in custody.
