Delegation of the International Social Security Association (ISSA) and the German Accident Insurance Organization will visit Azerbaijan.
The delegation, which includes the executive director of the German Accident Insurance Organisation, chairman of the ISSA, vice president of the European Division of the International Rehabilitation Organization, Joakim Broer and chairman of the ISSA Special Commission, Chairman of the Board of compulsory insurance against accidents in the engineering, energy and weaving industry Olaf Petermann, will stay on a visit to Azerbaijan on Oct. 20-24, head of the Public Relations Department of the State Social Protection Fund (SSPF), Elman Babayev told Trend on Oct. 16.
The visit aims to expand ties with the State Social Protection Fund and the discussions regarding the joint activities that are planned in the near future. Moreover, the visit will focus on holding international seminars in Azerbaijan in spring 2010 under the Special Commission and the Technical Commission of the ISSA.
The proposal to hold a similar seminar in Azerbaijan was put forward by the official representatives of the ISSA. The priority topic of the meeting is "Prevention of occupational diseases in the energy sector, providing insurance and rehabilitation."
During the visit, the ISSA representatives in Azerbaijan will also hold a meeting in the Presidential Administration, Cabinet of Ministers and a number of ministries to further strengthen ties and enhance cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany.
Azerbaijan was elected a member of the ISSA Bureau in September 2004. European meeting of the association was held in September 2005. The election of Azerbaijan in 2007 as a member of the Committee of Heads of European network of associations and special role in decision making at a high level, holding the committee's meetings in Baku on July 2, 2008 are among the important activities undertaken towards the European integration of Azerbaijan. As a continuation of these ties in October 2008 in Baku, ISSA and the State Social Protection Fund jointly organized and held an international technical workshop with the participation of 16 countries-members of the organization.
