The Azerbaijani Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources fined legal and physical entities in the amount of 1.546 million manats for ecological damage in 2009. About 268,000 manat of this amount have been paid off, the Ministry told Trend .
Amount of fine for environmental damage was 2,212,000 manats. About 78,000 manats of this sum have been paid.
During this period, the fines violation of ecological legislation on effective use of water resources during this period amounted to 175,400 manats with 34,400 manats repaid.
The fines for air pollution amounted to 276.600, 70.300 manats of which have been paid. The fines for land pollution amounted to 30,600 manat, with 3,800 manats already paid off.
Fines for protection of flora made up 173,500 manats, with 44,700 manats repaid. Fines for protection of fauna made up 48,000 manats with 14,000 manats repaid.
