A trial began against individuals accused of committing an armed attack in Azerbaijan.
On Jan. 26, the prosecutor demanded 15 years of imprisonment for Adil Tahmazov, 12 years for Amil Ibrahimov, and 10 years for Vugar Aliyev and Ruslan Islamov at the Baku Serious Crimes Court.
Tahmazov threatened to rob Malik Salamov near a railway station in the Bakikhanov settlement of the Sabunchu district Jan. 23. Tahmazov then beat Salmanov with an iron bar. Salamov died later at a local hospital.
In late January, Tahmazov and other individuals were accused of committing an attack against Baku State University Professor Sevil Mirgadirova. Threatening Mirgadirova, they took her mobile phone money worth 153 manat, her BSU teacher certificate and other documents.
They are also accused of committing over 10 armed attacks against taxi drivers, taking their money and mobile phones in the Surakhani, Sabunchu, Khatai and Azizbekov districts in Baku.
They are also accused of robbing over 20 homes in Baku.
