Azerbaijan will ban the import of vehicles that do not meet European standards from July 1, head of the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents Ramiz Hasanov said at a press conference today.
"European countries will introduce Euro-5 standard. We will begin Euro-2 standard," he said.
According to Hasanov, operations on introducing national standards are conducted jointly with the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), as "local fuel also must correspond with European standards."
