The Azerbaijan Education Ministry and the international organization Hilfswerk Austria signed an agreement to transfer children from public institutions to families in Baku March 16.

The Azerbaijan Education Ministry and the international organization Hilfswerk Austria signed an agreement to transfer children from public institutions to families in Baku March 16.

The agreement was signed within the project, "Working out a model of cooperation between local authorities and non-governmental organizations in connection with the trustee and family care services."

The project was signed between Education Minister Misir Mardanov and Hilfswerk Austria President Franz Ceska.

"The total cost of the project for three years is 640,000 Euros," Mardanov said at the signing ceremony.

Fifty families will be chosen and trained as part of the project.

The minister said that 25 people from the staff of boarding schools in Azizbayov the district of Baku will be trained as social workers.

Over 10,000 children study in boarding schools in Azerbaijan and 4,000 live there.
