Today Baku hosts two-day international technical workshop on "Accident Insurance: history of development, reforms, and current challenges", organized by the State Social Protection Fund of Azerbaijan (DSMF) and the International Organization of Social Security (ISSA).
At present, the process of creating a system of insurance from accidents is at an early stage in Azerbaijan, DSMF chairman Salim Muslimov said.
"This is a totally new sphere for Azerbaijan. So, we decided to hold such a seminar with ISSA, which will allow us to share experience with professionals from other countries", he said.
He also noted the importance of the bill "Insurance from accidents and injuries at work" adopted by the Azerbaijani Parliament in the two readings.
"The bill includes a mandatory insurance of employees from accidents and injuries at work. Therefore, representatives of Azerbaijani insurance companies, which will deal with insurance after getting the license in the Ministry of Finance, participate in the workshop", Muslimov said.
Over 27 representatives from seven countries attend the workshop.
