The international tournament on pankration "Azerbaijan against Europe" dedicated to Azerbaijani Independence Day was held in Baku yesterday. Aleksander Emelianenko participated in it.
His rival was Serbian fighter Miodrag Petkovic (Pele). The tournament was organized with the support of the Azerbaijan Pankration Federation.
Aleksander easily won crowned total success of the team. Azerbaijani team won rivals scoring 8-3.
Emelianenko said that all fighters of AE TEAM competed well and demonstrated excellent fights. Despite a short preparation for this fight, they could easily adapt to new rivals and demonstrate high professionalism.
"Our goal is to make fights of mixed styles popular among youth, develop this kind of sport, make it significant as other kinds of fights. I can attract many young people to sports clubs owing to my example," sportsman's official website reported.
