USAID opened the "Healthy Food" project in Azerbaijan at the U.S. Embassy in Baku.
Participants discussed the importance of natural and healthy food for the human body.
"Two of five women of the reproductive age in Azerbaijan suffer from a lack of iron and anaemia," USAID Coordinator for Azerbaijan Karen Welch told Trend.
"USAID implements various activities to promote healthy eating to overcome such problems," she added.
USAID was established by President John F. Kennedy in November 1961. For the first time in the nation's history, the Unite States launched a public institution entirely focused on providing long-term assistance to the economic and social development of foreign countries. USAID has operated in Azerbaijan for 15 years.
