Azerbaijanis face a number of problems, as do ordinary Georgians, Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with the Diaspora Chairman Nazim Ibrahimov said.
"As the social situation in Georgia is behind Azerbaijan's pace of development, our compatriots face certain social problems," he said. "Solving these problems is impossible over night, but we can at least solve psychological problems."
Ibrahimov added that the quality of life of many
Georgian-Azerbaijanis has improved thanks to several Azerbaijani organizations.
"As a state organization, we provide support to our compatriots and create conditions for their active participation in Georgia's social life," he said.
Ibrahimov also spoke about the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
"I would like to mention the foundation's care for Georgian-Azerbaijanis," he said. "The fund is actively working in this regard. It is repairing schools and building public facilities. The fund inspires Azerbaijanis. They really feel its care."
