Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva on Sunday met with the residents of Tovuz admitted to the military colleges and soldiers taking military oath.

First Ganira Pashayeva visited the monument to the great leader Heydar Aliyev. Then Pashayeva along with chief executive of Tovuz region Tofig Zeynalov and the residents of Tovuz admitted to the military colleges, visited the graves of Tovuz martyrs who gave their lives for their country.

The event was continued in the N. military unit in Tovuz region. Speaking here, Ganira Pashayeva congratulated the soldiers who take the military oath, and wished them success. Speaking about the economic and military power of Azerbaijan, MP Pashayeva said that now the country is developing rapidly as a result of the efforts of President Ilham Aliyev. "With this power, we must always be ready to liberate the occupied land from the enemy," - said the MP.

Pashayeva noted that the combat path of national hero Mubariz Ibrahimov should be an example for everybody.

The deputy read a letter written by national hero to his parents before his death, presented about a dozen stands reflecting his life and combat path.

"I see a high spirit in our army. Army with a high spirit can be destroyed by nothing. On the contrary, such an army can in a short time liberate our land from occupation," - said Ganira Pashayeva.

Chief Executive of the Tovuz district Tofig Zeynalov thanked the parents who participated in the ceremony of taking the oath of their sons, for growing children devoted to their homeland. Zeynalov said that Tovuz - is a "hero district" and their children are completely surrounded with attention and care. Parents of the soldiers said that their children are proud to serve the motherland.

After taking the oath, reconnaissance unit soldiers demonstrated their skills.

Ganira Pashayeva presented the book about the life of national heroes and valuable gifts to young people admitted to the military colleges. The MP said that Tovuz ranks first among the districts in number of those who applied for admission to the military colleges.

According to preliminary information, in 2010, 25 natives of Tovuz district passed applied for admission to the Jumshud Nakhchivanski Military Lyceum and 20 people have applied to the Heydar Aliyev Higher Military School. On the last three years 125 people from the district went to the capital Baku to receive a military education.
