Georgia’s Ministry of Health is ready for a possible outburst of H1N1 flu, the Minister of Health, Labor and Social Welfare Andria Urushadze said.

Georgia's Ministry of Health is ready for a possible outburst of H1N1 flu, the Minister of Health, Labor and Social Welfare Andria Urushadze said.

Thus, he commented on this year's first case of "swine flu" which has been already confirmed by laboratory tests in 26-year-old woman. She is undergoing treatment at home under doctors' control.

"We have all the necessary medicines in sufficient amount, the doctors are prepared, they already have experience in treating this type of flu, and the whole medical system of the country is ready for autumn-winter flu outburst," the minister said, stressing that one should contact doctors when flu complications are observed.

Last year 32 people, mostly pregnant women, died in Georgia from swine flu.
