Azerbaijani Science and Culture Week will be held at Berlin's Humboldt University from Nov. 29 to Dec. 3, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Germany said yesterday.
Berlin to host Azerbaijani Science and Culture Week

Azerbaijani Science and Culture Week will be held at Berlin's Humboldt University from Nov. 29 to Dec. 3, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Germany said yesterday.

The event has been organized on the occasion of the opening of the Azerbaijani History Department, which started its activity at the university in October.

The opening of the event will be organized next Monday in one of the largest halls in Berlin - "Konzerthause." The week will be opened by German Education Minister Annette Schavan and Azerbaijani Education Minister Misir Mardanov.

The head of the department, Eva-Maria Aukhun, will open the event. A concert program will then be held. The works of famous Azerbaijani composers will be played under the direction of Azerbaijani People's Artist Yalchin Adigozalov and German artist Ulrich Reelin. They will be accompanied by the BerlinClassicPlayers chamber orchestra.

An international scientific conference on Azerbaijani history as an area of international studies will be held in the following days, as will a youth forum on Azerbaijan and a conference on great Azerbaijani poet Imameddin Nasimi.

The event will be attended by Azerbaijani Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov, Azerbaijani people's artists Mansum Ibrahimov, Aygun Bayramova, and Azer Zeynalov, artist Zemfira Ismayilova and young Azerbaijani jazz artist, Montreux Jazz Festival winner Ifsar Sarabski.
