Azerbaijan to set voting age for civil servants

Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 16 / Trend K.Zarbaliyeva /

The age limit for civil servants will be set to 65 in Azerbaijan.

A proposal on changes to the law "On civil service" has been made in this regard, the State Commission on Public Service under the Azerbaijani President told Trend.

The bill will be tabled at the meeting of the relevant parliamentary committee.

According to the law "On civil service", Azerbaijani citizens who have attained the age of 16 may work in public services.

This law established that if a public servant had not lost ability, and does not want to retire upon reaching the retirement age, he could continue to operate, given his physical capacities, and the law prohibits forced retire.

Data on over 8,000 state employees was included in the civil servants register of Azerbaijan.
