The Azerbaijani State Committee on Work with Diaspora sent two staff members to Moscow in connection with the unrests, Committee Chairman Nazim Ibrahimov told journalists on Friday.
"Today, the investigation is underway over the riots in Moscow, and I do not believe that these developments will lead to a big catastrophe," Ibrahimov said.
The Govorit Moscow radio station reported earlier that an Azerbaijani was killed in the riots.
Criminal cases were launched after the riots under the articles of "hooliganism," "attempted murder" and "violence against the authorities".
