Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec.18 / Trend K. Zarbaliyeva /

A meeting of the Public Union of General Court's judges was held today. The meeting discussed issues of the judicial reforms, conducted in the country, the problems in the implementation of judicial control over the criminal process, the judicial control over the execution of court decisions and the liability of judges.

According to the Union's head, Yasamal District Court chairman Aladdin Jafarov new office buildings are currently under construction for the regional courts in Oguz and Gedabek regions, as well as the Nizami district of the Ganja city.

Public Union of the General Court's judges exists for already eight years and has 340 members. In October 2009, the Union joined the International Association of Judges, as an extraordinary member.

Jafarov said the main problem is untimely consideration and adoption of the legal decisions in cases in the courts.

According to him, it is due to the judges' work overload.

"Due to the judges' huge work overload cases were not considered timely, there were problems in their consideration. And now the judges' work load decreased slightly.  Henceforth, these problems will not be observed," Jafarov said.
