Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 18 / Trend T. Hajiyev /

Iran, declaring Israel the "king of all evils," has not imposed a ban on the import of goods from this country, Center for Innovation and Technologies Director Mubariz Ahmadoglu told Trend.

"Iranian religious and political elite can use Israeli products at home. Mujtahids, not thinking about the fatwa on the prohibition of using Israeli products in the Muslim world, made three fatwas on Azerbaijan in a short period. In any case, roughly 80 million Iranian Shiite of 100 million Shiites in the world are able to adopt anti-Israeli fatwa. But one can see that Mujtahids do not consider it necessary to make such a fatwa. The Islamic Republic of Iran has even traded oil and weapons with Israel, "he said.

He added that Iran used such rhetoric in its relations with Azerbaijan. The rhetoric is similar to Israel's, but Iran's policy toward Israel and the Jews is still unclear, he said.

"The population of Iran is about 10 times more than Israel. While Iran ranks third in terms of gas and fourth in terms of oil worldwide, Israel has almost no natural resources. The GDP per capita in Israel is $29,500 and in Iran it is $11,200. Azerbaijan's GDP per capita is $11,000. According to some sources, it is even more than the Iranian figure," he said.

He stressed that there is another interesting parameter for comparing Iranian-Israeli relations.

"The issue of the hijab is more radical in Judaism than in Islam. The fact that the hijab is a matter of honor is stated in Judaism, but not Islam. Despite this, religious radicalism did not hamper economic, scientific and technological development of Israel. Israel is at least far ahead compared to Iran, " he said.

He underscored that there was a time when Iran was interested in a confrontation between Israel and the Arabs.
