Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan.31 / Trend, M. Aliyev /
A term of temporary one-month ban imposed on bird hunting from Dec.1 was extended for another month in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry spokesperson Irada Ibrahimova told Trend today.
She said that extending the ban until Feb.28 is due to the preventive measures against bird flu (H1N1 virus) in the Azerbaijani territory.
Taking into account the hunters' appeals, hunting of waders in the territory of the country started on Nov.5, 2010. However, the ban again entered into force on Dec.1. The term of the ban was extended for another month on Jan. 1.
