Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office filed criminal proceedings against employees of the Transport Ministry, the Prosecutor General's Office press service told Trend.
On Feb. 1, 2011, forwarding agents Aliyev Taleh Zakir, Mohbaliyev Elnur Seyfulla, inspectors Gurbanov Nazim Shamil and Humbataliyev Tariyel Zal stopped GAZ 33021 owned by Jafarov Firudin Aydin to check the waybill. Without introducing themselves, they wanted to seize the registration certificate, but as the driver objected to it they inflicted bodily harm on him.
Controller Mirzayev Taleh Khalig and inspector Mammadov Sahib Huseyn stopped KIA owned by Hummatov Galib Agamammad in Heydar Aliyev Avenue, Baku. They inflicted bodily harm on him, removed the number plate and seized the registration certificate of the car. They damaged the rights and legal interests of Firudin Jafarov and Galib Mammadov.
On Feb. 8, 2011, criminal case was launched against these employees on article 309.2 (abuse of power by using force) of the Criminal Code. Baku prosecutor's office has been commissioned to carry out the investigation.
