The European Individual Women's Chess Championship will be held in Tbilisi on May 6-19. The announcement was made at the end of a European Chess Union meeting.
Seven of nine council members voted in favor of Tbilisi, one abstained and one voted against (former European Chess Union President, Russian representative Boris Kutin).
The championship will be held at the Sheraton Metechi Palace.
Tbilisi's rival for holding the championship was the Turkish city of Gaziantep.
