Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb.22 / Trend, K. Zarbaliyeva /
Spread of video footages and photos related to suicides on television channels, could lead to new cases of suicide, Azerbaijani Chief Psychiatrist said.
Similar scenes can be some impetus for not fully formed personalities, Azerbaijani Chief Psychiatrist and Medical University's Psychiatry Department Chief Geray Geraybeyli told Trend.
According to him, some people, particularly the younger generation, feel constrained, become depressed because they cannot find their place in society.
"Everyone may have such complexes. But many people find themselves thanks to sport, becoming the family mainstay and friend. But not all people are successful in it. It is associated with problems of personality, upbringing and family problems. They constantly feel constrained under stress and such information [about suicide] could serve as a kind of incitement for them," Geraybeyli said.
According to him, suicide for these people is a way to attract attention, and scenes about suicide can encourage them to commit it, Geraybeyli said.

The Chief Psychiatrist advises not to show videos and photos related to suicide and calls to be careful when disseminating information on the committed suicides.
