Azerbaijan held a trial today in the criminal case against an organized group of Chinese citizens who have been accused of kidnapping.

At the trial, the state prosecutor read the indictment, the Baku Heinous Crimes court told Trend.

Based on the indictment, the accused kidnappers, Chinese citizens Liu Genyong and his brother Liu Khiaolein, were brought to Baku from the Masalli region on Nov. 13, 2009.

The offenders kidnapped their compatriots and released them in exchange for $22,000, which they received from Genyong's wife Khuong Sujjen.

Ji Fong Ping and Khu Ye were arrested as a result of the operations carried out by the Interior Ministry based on an appeal by Genyong.

The same day Vei, Zengo Vang Liyong, Vang Konyong and Zing Lakhu were detained.
Fong Ping and Khu Ye pleaded partially guilty to the charges.

The process will continue next week.
