The Azerbaijani government has decided to create the Agyarpaq Qovaq nature monument (White poplar), the website of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
According to the government's decision, a 200-year-old white poplar, with a height of 40 meters and a diameter of 330 cm, which is located in the Sahil Park on the right bank of the Kur River in the city of Yevlakh, was given the status of a nature monument of national significance. The tree has been called the Agyarpaq Qovaq nature monument (White poplar)
The Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry, as well as the Yevlakh Region Executive Power, have been instructed together to take actions to organize and protect the tree.
