Batumi opens young reformers' conference

An international conference supported by the Young Reformers Forum on the Black Sea countries, national reform plans and international aid opened today in Batumi.
The conference was opened by Georgian Deputy Prime Minister Giorgi Baramidze. Participants are discussing NATO's and the EU's role in the Black Sea region, democratic, security, human rights and economic development, the fight against corruption, and social reforms and media freedom.
The conference is held with the Office of the Georgian State Minister on Integration into European and Euro-Atlantic Structures' support and with the organization of the Center for Regional and International Studies, the Center for Political Studies, the German Marshall Fund, and the Robert Bosch Foundation.
Similar conferences are held annually in the different countries in the region.
