Azerbaijan approves rules of formation of crew to partake in peacekeeping operations

The Government of Azerbaijan has approved "The Rules of Formation of Crew and Personnel to Partake in Peacekeeping Operations and Pass Special Training", the official Website of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

The Government of Azerbaijan has approved "The Rules of Formation of Crew and Personnel to Partake in Peacekeeping Operations and Pass Special Training", the official Website of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

According to the Rules, Azerbaijan shall partake in peacekeeping operations and replace/increase the number of its peacekeepers according to a decision of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The crew and personnel shall be formed voluntarily. The composition of Azerbaijan's peacekeepers may be inclusive of different servicemen as well as military or paramilitary units of different state agencies of the country.

The composition of participants of peacekeeping operations may also be inclusive of civilians having or not having diplomatic status, including individuals, groups of representatives, and divisions of executive, lawmaking and judicial power.

The crew may not include persons with criminal records and servicemen who continue their service in the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and other legal armed formations of the country. The crew of peacekeeping forces can not also include servicemen who broke military discipline intently.

The special training of crew and personnel aims at improvement of knowledge and skills necessary for an efficient fulfillment of peacekeeping operations, and at teaching the crew and personnel to high moral and psychological qualities.
