In Azerbaijan, family is one of the highest values of the community, but regretfully, the facts of crimes in this sphere have lately been increasing, Bahar Muradova, Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan, told reporters on Friday.
She said the Parliament had adopted laws and legal provisions on prevention of domestic violence; however, this problem can not be solved through legislative acts alone.
"Here, propaganda works should be expanded, and measures changing the thinking of a man and a woman and their interrelations in a family should be undertaken. The community should work jointly with the state, strongly condemn facts of domestic violence," Muradova said.
"Law enforcement agencies should enforce observation of the law, but it is also necessary to conduct law-envisioned undertakings more flexibly, immediately," Muradova said.
