Officials of foreign companies and international organizations who violate the law will be referred to the subjects of corruption-related offenses.
A proposal was made to amend the Criminal Code in this regard, a law-enforcement source told Trend.
According to the UN Convention against Corruption, which Azerbaijan has joined, and the Council of Europe conventions on criminal and civil liability, financially responsible persons of international organizations and foreign companies who violate the law are the subjects of corruption-related offenses, a member of the anti-corruption commission at the Azerbaijani President, MP Bakhtiyar Aliyev told Trend.
The working group conducts activities to bring both criminal and administrative legislation of Azerbaijan into conformity with international law. Proposals were prepared to make additions and amendments to the legislation and submitted to the Parliament, the MP said.
The Law on Combating Corruption defines range of stakeholders responsible for corruption.
