Azerbaijan, Baku, June 8 / Trend K. Zarbaliyeva /
Serious measures have been taken in Azerbaijan to prevent corruption in the judicial system.
A few judges were punished in connection with corruption offenses, Chairman of the Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev told media.
"The corruption is not simply taking a bribe," he said. "This concept is more wide. Delaying the affairs is also a sign of corruption. Our goal is to strengthen public confidence in the triumph of justice," he said.
He added that the courts considered over 119,000 cases last year, 14,000 of them were criminal, 105,000 were civil.
