It is planned to simplify the procedures of state technical inspection of vehicles in Azerbaijan, Interior Minister Ramil Usubov told the "Azerbaijan" newspaper.
He said by simplifying procedures of state technical inspection of vehicles it is planned to organize and use of electronic queue management based on modern technologies in the short period of time.
Usubov said it is also planned to simplify the registration processes of vehicles by state traffic police, granting driver licenses and examination for those who want to obtain a driver license.
"Some important organizational work has been conducted to carry out work related to customs clearance and registration of imported vehicles based on the "one window" principle, and this procedure will be applied in the near future," Usubov underscored.
After tightening the sanctions for administrative violations of traffic rules the number of fatal traffic accidents has been largely reduced.
Usubov expressed his regret over the fact that drivers have a low level of discipline and driving culture.
He said a centralized electronic information base has been set up in the Chief State Traffic Police. This information resource enables getting more operative information on vehicles in the territory of the republic, their owners and drivers.
