Iranian citizens hit 74.5 million

Iran 's current population increased to 74.5 million, while the population growth is 1.25 to 1.03 percent, Mehr News Agency reported quoting head of National Organization for Civil Registration Mohammad Nazami Ardekani as saying.

"Iran holds 1.05 percent of world populations, the country birth ratio last solar year (ended on March20,2011) was 18.6 in 1000, while the death ratio was 5.8 in 1000," he said.

The life expectancy in Iran is age 70.

The statistics indicates Bahrain and Kuwait hold high ratio of life expectancy of age 78 in Middle East while Afghanistan with 1.38 in 1000 has the highest birth ratio and death ratio of 17.7 in 1000.
