Azerbaijani Education Minister Misir Mardanov believes some wish to belittle the country's education system today.
"We have teachers who deserve 'much respect'. But instead, we give them a salary of 200 manat. If teacher receives 2,000 manat, will he/she engage in tutoring? I am sure that the azerbaijani education system will reach a high level in 10-15 years," Mardanov said.
He voiced attitude to the fact that Azerbaijan ranks the last in the world ranking of universities.
"People ask why any Azerbaijani institution is not included in the top hundred universities in the world? What can we say, even if the Moscow State University is not included in this list?" he said.
