Azerbaijani Interior Ministry has spread official information on the results of search operations, held under the code name "Sarhad" ("Border").
According to the join action plan approved by the interior ministries of Azerbaijan and Russia, comprehensive search and preventive operations were held on borders between the two countries on Sept. 19-25, the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry's press service told Trend.
The measures were aimed at preventing transnational organized crime, terrorist activities, trafficking in arms, explosives and other ammunitions, drug trafficking and other illegal actions.
50 people wanted by the Azerbaijani law-enforcement agencies, 30 wanted by Russia were detained, a large number of arms and drug were confiscated.
