Azerbaijani Prosecutor General, Interior Minister briefed on writer Rafig Tagiyev's murder (UPDATE)

Azerbaijani Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov and Interior Minister Ramil Usubov heard the account of operational investigative group on the murder of writer and publicist Rafig Tagiyev, says a joint statement by Prosecutor General's Office and Interior Ministry released on Saturday.
According to the statement, the prosecutor general and interior minister set the investigative and search actions necessary to catch and prosecute the perpetrators of the assassination and gave specific instructions and recommendations.
A criminal case was filed under article 126.1 (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm) of the Azerbaijan's Criminal Code.
It was found that on November 19 an unknown person repeatedly stabbed Rafig Tagiyev who was returning home from work. It happened near the house where he lived Tagiyev. The attacker managed to escape the scene.
After Tagiyev's death in hospital on November 23, the case was reclassified to the article 120.1 (premeditated murder). The investigation is continuing.
Tagiyev's murder case is under special control of the President of Azerbaijan, read the statement.
