In Azerbaijan in 2011 was found in 2636 of criminal facts related to the drug. This was stated at the operative meeting of the Main Directorate for Combating Drugs on the results of work in 2011 and the challenges ahead, told Trend in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov.
As a result of search operations in the field of combating illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors were detected in 2636 of criminal facts related to drugs, of which 817 related to the illegal sale of drugs, 1694 - unlawful acquisition and possession of drugs, 111 - illegal cultivation of plants with narcotic properties, said the Head of Drug Enforcement, Major-General Hazi Aslanov.
In 22 foreign nationals prosecuted in connection with drugs found and seized 53.9 kg of various drugs.
During the reporting period of trafficking were recovered more than 136 kg of various drugs po106 criminal evidence and destroyed 366.7 tons of drugs.
At the end of the meeting Interior Minister Colonel-General Ramil Usubov gave his instructions and recommendations.
